That's not the only advantage by a long shot. Camping also allows you stay in a location far from the nearest motel. When we camp at events, it's so nice to be able to walk out the door of our Pod right into the event grounds rather than having to drive many miles each day.

I'll second Bum.  Love to stop when I want to eat or sleep while going to, at, or from a Cushman Rally.  A bunch of old men and their toys!  But it is costly when sitting in the HOA parking lot. If you have to ask the pros and cons, maybe rent a camper for a few weekends.  A lot depends on if you are retired or not. Good luck in your decision making.
