We got our tow vehicle many years ago and it is my everyday vehicle.  Yes it is a pickup but it is convenient for everyday chores as well.   We have taken fairly long road trips the last couple of years and are planning another this year.  We did 13,000 miles two years ago and 10,000 last year but this year may only be 7,000 miles.

It seems to me that the real advantage of a camping trailer is the ability to fix your own meals.  Yes, you can do it while tent camping and backpacking but it is so much easier in the Pod.  And i figure the savings on food pays at least half my fuel bill.  In addition, it is soooo much easier to control your diet.

That's not the only advantage by a long shot. Camping also allows you stay in a location far from the nearest motel. When we camp at events, it's so nice to be able to walk out the door of our Pod right into the event grounds rather than having to drive many miles each day.

I'll second Bum.  Love to stop when I want to eat or sleep while going to, at, or from a Cushman Rally.  A bunch of old men and their toys!  But it is costly when sitting in the HOA parking lot. If you have to ask the pros and cons, maybe rent a camper for a few weekends.  A lot depends on if you are retired or not. Good luck in your decision makingSmile.

Tom
