Welcome! Some depends on the type of shelf you want to mount and the model R-Pod. We have an RP179. One of the first mods I did was to mount a shelf. I made two brackets to hold the shelf. Initially, I had it stuck up with Command strips. I noticed that the valences were being pushed down too much, so I recently mouinted them with short Hollow Wall Anchors from Home Depot. SKU: 121 206, #6-32 x 1 in. Do NOT use anything longer than an inch. You will end up going through the outside wall.

We did something similar to SH but used industrial strength Velcro instead of hollow wall anchors. We tried Command strips with about the same result as SH.
