Mine is a Camco model. It isn't as good as the Progressive model, but it has proven to be adequate for our needs.

I was torn between the portable and the hardwired. I ultimately decided on the hardwired PI EMS-HW30C. http://www.progressiveindustries.net/ems-hw30c I have not regretted that decision in the 1.5 year I've had it. It takes 30-45 min to install. Then it's out of mind, out of sight, and always working. We were camping in Sedona this spring. The park filled up as we got closer to the weekend. All these big rigs with all sorts electronics. On Thursday night the PI shut down power to the pod. Heard a bunch later that night all around us of problems people were having. After a while, the EMS put us back online. Disaster averted. Highly recommend getting a step up from a surge protector. Hardwired or portable is up to your preference. Good luck. Thanks Jeff

I'll upload some pictures. I mounted it behind the power station to the left. Low on the wall in between the corner and the head door. I mounted a piece of pine that I could anchor into the studs. Then mounted the box on the pine. For me and my wires, it was easier to mount upside down. Does not hurt performance. Tight working conditions mounting, but the rest was easy.
Thanks Jeff |

Here you go. Let me know if you have any questions. I originally wanted to mount under the ottoman where 120 passes before heading across to power station. Not enough slack in the line. Wanted to keep splices to a minimum. Sorry, second picture is sideways. Thanks Jeff |

Jeff, what is the phone cord going into the box? Thermostat wire or something else?

This is likely silly question that will get lots of head shakes but I'm new to this - just brought R-POD 171 home today. Can I hook the electricity up to my house and if so, how?
