If you don't want the microwave part either, you could remove it and then just make the space a storage area. That way you would not have to worry about breaking the glass tray while you are traveling.

Ya, I think I'm going to try that Coleman stovetop, and just keep using microwave for storage.

In place of? No. It would not be a good idea. Replacing the stove with a combination stove/oven is better but still though, one that can be used outside is a much better idea still.

Thank you for all the reply's. I was hoping to not carry more things in our abundance of storage in the 178.  I'm surprised nobody has put an lp oven in place of the microwave.

Well, the oven does contribute to heating the pod when in use.  But it also puts out a lot of moisture, unlike  the furnace.  That's a drawback.

Biscuits and sausage gravy are damn good in the mountains, yes.

Have used one of those for years.. little bit of a learning curve, but will bake stuff well. Finding small trays for it isn't as hard as you would think, B, B, and Beyond sells pans for toaster ovens that work great.

We use it on our ancient Peak 1 backpacking stove, our 70's two burner, and have used it a couple times on the Pod burners inside when it was cold out...

geewizard, how is that oven in regard to heating up the interior of the Pod?  We have one, but I've never used it.  .... plan to soon, though.  Biscuits and gravy sounds real good, especially on a cold western mountain morning.

I just looked on ebay and there is one advertised for $75 that is exactly like ours. It is called the Coleman Instastart portable camping oven. I can’t give a website ,but it was the first listing on ebay when I searched for  coleman propane oven
