Has anyone replaced the abysmal stock Jensen speakers with quality ones that fit the same screen holes? I've heard Polk Audio marine ones are an option, but so many models. Please reply with model name or number.

There was a post either here or in the FB group about someone who changed out speakers. It didn't really help much. What did help was adding an amplifier. The power output on the Jensen stereo is abysmal.

Think I'll just continue to bypass the cheap stereo and play my playlist through my Bose Soundlink. If someone could give me a replacement brand of stereo and speakers that I could easily just pop in to the same hole and screw holes, I'd gladly do it, but not looking to make a huge project of this. Thanks for input, as now realize speakers not the only issue.

Pretty sure the base Jensen unit is like 4 watts a channel.. Part of the issue is.. even if Mr Macintosh himself designed a R-Pod stereo system, it still has to work within the confines and materials of an R-Pod.. it isn't an audio friendly place to begin with..

I concur. I believe that a good quality Bluetooth speaker is a better option for numerous reasons. Leave the existing speakers for when lo-fi is adequate.
