I might disagree with the Colorado being the main competition. I still see the Tacoma as the big dog in this segment. We've owned several Tacomas, and every single one was a great vehicle. Never had a single problem with any of them. Well, I take that back, one of them had a sticky tailgate latch that had gotten gummed up with dirt from our dirt driveway.

According to TFL, payload will be 1500 - 1840 depending on the model, and towing will be 7,500#. Not too shabby!

My 1999 Ford Ranger 4WD, 4.0 would pull the pod. Ford was losing a ton, not having a mid size competitor.
