I agree with StephenH. And the water heater will take 5/6 gallons of antifreeze.

Up in cold NJ after having the RV winterized we put in the largest damp rid we could buy and several dryer pads (to keep out mice). The RPOD smelled great in the spring. The damp rid container was full of water. So that was moisture that would have been in the RV. We also cleaned the RV and then covered it with the Poly Pro 3. So it looked like new when we opened it up and it was easy to sell. We did not remove the battery just turned it off using the cut off switch and the battery was good to go as well despite the cold winter

Winterized our 190 today, used 2 1/2 gallons of antifreeze, sucked thru the pump.
Took it to the storage lot and covered with a Classic Accessories Poly Pro 3. (fit like a glove!) The battery is in the garage on a trickle charger. Now we wait for spring.

Hey Dave, I do that too. But I don't bypass the water heater to do that.

Mike, I by-pass the water heater because I remove the anode rod and am able to flush the heater out. You wouldn't believe the crud that can accumulate in its little tank. Its no big deal once if you have the correct socket for the rod.

I don't know Dave. I have never bypassed my WH. Never. I blow it out and add some antifreeze and I've been good for years.

I'm sitting here with Camco brand Pump Converter Winterizing Kit and wondering if I should even install it since I'm thinking compressed air and as other here do bit of RV antifreeze should do just fine in the drains and such? Maybe I'll just go ahead and install it since I have to get to the hot water heater to by-pass it and see what its like letting the water pump put antifreeze all through the system this year.

+1 to Keith, I use compressed air and add a bit of antifreeze. I make sure to get black tank backflush and the outside shower.

I blow it out then put in antifreeze. Suspenders and a belt. Will be doing it this afternoon.
