Humidity is a problem here in NC during the summer not the winter....

I like mcarter idea of everyone here at least putting the state they live in on your info. Someone who lives in southern Arizona has completely different issues, in some cases like winterizing, then some one living in northern Maine.

Absotutely. Here in North California, we really don't have to "winterize" in the traditional sense. We will have an occasional night where the temp might drop to 30 F for a few hours, but that's about it.

Here in TN i always use the Antifreeze, as I just trust it better and worth the 15 minutes of my life for peace of mind.

I blow it out then put in antifreeze.  Suspenders and a belt. Will be doing it this afternoon.

+1 to Keith, I use compressed air and add a bit of antifreeze. I make sure to get black tank backflush and the outside shower.

I'm sitting here with Camco brand Pump Converter Winterizing Kit and wondering if I should even install it since I'm thinking compressed air and as other here do bit of RV antifreeze should do just fine in the drains and such? Maybe I'll just go ahead and install it since I have to get to the hot water heater to by-pass it and see what its like letting the water pump put antifreeze all through the system this year.

I don't know Dave. I have never bypassed my WH. Never. I blow it out and add some antifreeze and I've been good for years.

Mike, I by-pass the water heater because I remove the anode rod and am able to flush the heater out. You wouldn't believe the crud that can accumulate in its little tank. Its no big deal once if you have the correct socket for the rod.

Hey Dave, I do that too. But I don't bypass the water heater to do that.

Winterized our 190 today, used 2 1/2 gallons of antifreeze, sucked thru the pump.
Took it to the storage lot and covered with a Classic Accessories Poly Pro 3.  (fit like a glove!)
The battery is in the garage on a trickle charger.
Now we wait for spring.
