Ho Hum... Another World Series Championship... (Yawn)
Just kidding, of course. Born in 1945, I was an infant when the Sox lost their first Game 7 of my lifetime. Then I remember listening to their next Game 7 loss in 1967. I was in El Paso at Ft Bliss undergoing Officer Basic Training in Air Defense Artillery.
The third Game 7 loss was in 1975 to the Reds. Watched that in a motel room in Palo Alto on a business trip.
In 1986 I was at a trade show in New York City when Biuckner let the ground ball go through his legs and watched them lose Game 7 the next night to the Mets.
I won't even comment on Bucky "******" Dent...
Finally, 2004, during which ALCS the Yankees set a record that will never be broken. Up 3 games to none and lost to the Sox! The Series against the Cardinals was almost anti-climatic, except for Schilling' grit.
So, this ex-Bostonian in his late years, (but not his dotage!), sets his Apple Watch alarm for 10:00 pm Eastern Time and gets up to watch the late innings. (The 18 inning game damn near killed me...).
Living on a little island in the Gulf of Mexico now, but with fond memories of when my wife and I could walk to Fenway- and often did.
