I also do both air/rv antifreeze as does StephenH. While running the antifreeze through the system, I feel enough goes down to the grey and black tanks as to not worry about freezing those tanks or the handle gates, along with the size of the pipes being big enough to handle any expansion of water to ice.

I winterized ours by using bypassing and draining the water heater, flushing it in the process. Then I used compressed air followed by RV antifreeze for the water lines (belt and suspenders approach) and RV antifreeze in the drains. That makes sure the pump is protected also as air pressure through the city water connection won't purge the water that may be in the pump.

I guess I'll be winterizing tomorrow too, sadly. Was hoping to make one more camping trip but best laid plans of mice and men, you know how that goes. Draining the hot water heater and by passing it, blowing out the lines with compressed air, followed by RV antifreeze in the traps and a little in the black, and gray water holding tanks, have nothing in the fresh water tank, and call it good for the Pod winter slumber. The antifreeze mixed with what ever water is in left in the holding tanks after you drain them should be all you need. Tip make sure all the water is gone from the line into the toilet and your outside shower!

Am surprised you would have to winterize in Arkansas but to you inquiry:  after using compressed air to winterize (which I have done since 2012) I also drain all 3 tanks as best as I can.  To be sure there will be some residual liquid in each of the three tanks but it won't cause any harm as there will be plenty of room for expansion inside the tank if and when the water/waste freezes and expands.

Hello fellow Podder's, I have a question.  I live in central Arkansas, I am planning to winterize with compressed air, after blowing out the lines should I also TOTALLY drain the black and grey tanks or leave the chemical and water in them like I do during the camping in season?  I thought about maybe adding antifreeze to the tanks along with the water and chemical mix.  Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated since this is the first winter with our Rpod 180(aka Herbie).
