I'm getting so excited I can hardly stand it...I get off work June 1 and don't have to be back until July 7! Headed WEST with the wife and the Pod! We're coddiwompling toward Idaho to camp in the Dark Sky Reserve, but that's the only part vaguely resembling a plan. Got new batteries, twin propane tanks, 30gal worth of water jugs to put in the back of the truck. Still need a solar panel, a decent inverter and some new tires (FR put 2013 tires on my 2015 rpod, time to update!) as I plan on dry camping on public land as much as possible. Gonna be an adventure!!!

Have fun.. as a note.. compare your build date to the build date of the tires.. 2015 Pods were being built fairly early in 2014.. August or so.. But I would for sure change out a 2013 tire this year.

Lol, you're exactly right ...my build date is March 10 2014...awful early for a 2015 year model!

Any differences between 2014 and 2015? maybe mine is just titled wrong.

Edit: just checked the VIN, it is indeed a 2015 year model, with a mfg date of 3/10/14. Interesting.

That's not unusual. Ours is similar; we got it mid-year 2016, but its VIN is 2017.

Came into some unexpected funds, so I went ahead and ordered my solar setup, 100w Renogy suitcase and a 20a waterproof charge controller, as well as a set of Air Ride coil spring airbags to level out the truck when towing. Eyeballing a new Softopper bed cover also...wish someone could use my old one but I can't find anyone with an 8ft bed lol!

Sounds like you have a great trip planned! The Rocky Mountain Star Stare is June 26-30 in southern Colorado. Any chance you'll be coming this way around then? The DSR looks very cool...hope the weather cooperates. Taking a telescope?

A telescope...now there's something I should have thought of lol! Any recommendations for something small, easy, and decent?

Lots of possibilities here...a star chart/phone app to learn and identify constellations and a pair of binoculars is a great start.

There are a few table top telescopes that are decent like the Orion Starblast or maybe a Meade ETX90. A good source for used scopes is Craigslist, however I would avoid any telescope that is advertised based on it's maximum magnification. Lucky for you, you have plenty of time to look around.
