Stephen, what do you use to lubricate the hinge? A silicone based lubricant?

I have been using one that contains teflon, DuPont Multi-Use Lubricant with Teflon. It comes in a blue can, Part number D000110101 to lubricate a lot of things around the house as well as the hinges in the R-Pod door.

I lubricate mine several times a year.  There are several good lubricants out there.  WD40, while working to rid a squeak temporarily,  is not a lubricant as most people think.  It is actually a cleaner, and will dissolve any lubricants that you have usedin the past.

I use a lubricant similar to what StephenH uses called Tri-Flow. It is also a light oil infused with teflon.

We also use Tri-flow.

Not a fan of the "resistance hinge"...I'll take a door catch over it any day.
