It has a sticker that says: 'OPEN ONLY IN CASE OF EMERGENCY'

Obviously that is an emergency window, but is there a seal or something that breaks when you open it?

Does it fall on the ground when opened?

I dont want to just force it open to find out that I broke something, but it would be nice to know if it can be opened and then closed again with no damage.

You know that big nice folding entry handle by the door?

If some jokester decided to swing that handle across the camper door while the person inside is asleep, it will make it difficult to open that door, so that makes me wonder, if that happened, can I crawl out the Emergency Exit without damaging the window itself?

I'm a big guy, so yeah, I could kick open the door, but I'd hate to bust that grab handle, but I would have to if I wanted to exit, which I'm sure I would!

BTW this emergency window is 6 feet across from the main exit, but about 12 feet from the bed. Makes no sense to me. In my old motorhome, the Emergency Exit was very close to the bed.

I'm not sure about the window, but try opening the door with the grab handle closed. I was surprised myself at how easy it is to push the handle out of the way.

If the grab handle doesn't swing out, then you can grind down some material on the handle hinges to get it to move with minimal force.

If I modified the hinges of the grab handle, it might not be as secure when the pod is rolling down the road...but I will look at it again.

All three of our camper r-pod, Vibe and Vista we have always opened the emergency window for extra ventilation. The arm that pushes window out locks or latched in place and keeps widow held open. All three campers the emergency windows have been hinged at the top they haven't fell to the ground. Maybe the newer r-pods have a different emergency window. I would look at the top of the window to see if it has a hinge. Also the emergency windows have had screens so they are made to be opened for the option of ventilation.

You'd only need to modify them on the side toward the door and not by much. They should still hold against most wind currents. You could travel with the handle swung back instead of forward, although I understand some people's desire to make the handle an extra door security feature while traveling down the road.

Yip! Thanks, I went out there and sure enough, the window pops open with a hinge up top. You can't really see the hinge from the outside, its just a bar or ridge of aluminum.

And yes, it has a sliding section of glass, and a screen too.

Now I just need to fabricate a little 'prop-rod' so I can leave it part way open during light rain....who needs one of them fancy-shmancy Class A's?

We use our emergency window for additional ventilation.  We made an interior screen that covers the entire window. It attaches to the frame with velcro-the hook side is sewn to the screen and the loop side is glued to the window frame.  We had to remove the window valence board in order to permanently install the screen. We open both emergency red handles and prop the window open about 10" with a small piece of 3/4"x 10" pvc pipe.  It works great.
