Also open up the toilet flush handle and the shower faucets. Top off the fresh water tank, and then let stand for 3 hours. You need to add a little more than 1/2 cup of bleach to the tank.

Yes. Run both hot and cold water in the sink, one at a time until you smell the bleach. Do it in the shower also.

Should you or should you not run bleach solution thru the hot water tank when sanitizing the system?
