I've read two ways of installing a window in the door.  I am going to tackle this project but am really curious as the best method.  Should I do it while the door is attached?? or, take off the door??  Comments welcomed!  ---179 model

I removed the door, much easier to lay out and cut out area for window. Got window from Vintage Technologies.

I put mine in while the door was mounted.  It wasn't hard, but it would have been easier taking the door off.

We have not done this yet, but for the minor amount of work involved, I would probably remove the door to make it easier.

+1 on removing the door. Make sure you have help though to hold it. I did it by myself and ended up scratching the fender trying to put the door back on.

And in Nevada, do it in the early morning before the wind picks up.

I removed the door and placed it on saw horses. hat worked perfectly. Put tape on both sides of the door  where it will be cut. Measure twice, cut once.
Good luck

Do you hire this to remove or replace the new one?
