I was thinking of using the double tiered little wire covered shelves of under the sink and store area. Does everything come falling off these shelves when towing? Without actually building another wooden shelf this seems a waste of space. Any suggestions? Thanks

Mine doesn't have that setup so I can't suggest anything. What model do you have?

I have been gone, but not in the Pod.
TerryM, I have the 171, as yet unused due to getting mileage on tow machine

You can add your model to your signature, if you want. I have the 171 and don't have those shelves so that must be an add-on either by you or a prior owner?

I am not sure what I was asking to tell the truth. Thinking there might be some way notto have any wasted space by putting in the coated wire shelves so as to have things stacked up. I have already done that and I will see if it is packed tightly enough not to end up in a jumble When the Pod is moving. We are first owner, no built ins. Just about loaded, despite the humidy. |

I have Ikea baskets we hang on the walls of the kitchen when we are camping. As we are towing they are placed in a crate and placed on the floor so not to fly all over the place. I had fun one time my wife placed an almost new roll of paper towels on our holder and said something but she knew better. Boy was it hard not to say anything as she was rerolling the roll when we got to the camp ground.

I want a small shelf of a few small cookbooks, books out while towing I guess. I thought I had looked into Ikea, but guess not. AND somehow I did not want to drill holes into Pod, some strong stick-up pads??

The first hole you drill is the hardest! All the others are easy. Our change with the baskets is listed here: http://www.rpod-owners.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1186&title=171-mod-kitchen
If you are looking to store books you may want to look at the office stores for wall pockets like: http://www.officedepot.com/catalog/search.do;jsessionid=0000LtsByzGFVVWv7x4nSbFhtOr:13ddpq53l?fkey=null&Ntt=wall+pockets May be able to find wood units. |

Well, I have just constructed a small shelf, stained it, is the size to fit in next to the cabinet, just above the window valance (171). Only need a little one for small , spiral bound cookbooks, like Sisters of the Fly. Will off load it of books for travel. |
