I have not used the rPod since December, but keep it plugged into house electricity line. I have guests this weekend and pushed the button to extend the slide out and heard an awful grinding noise. I stopped immediately and closed it back up, still getting the grinding sound. I don't think this is a good thing!
I will take to a repair facility for advice unless someone in the forum has experience and suggestions for a very noisy slide out. thanks.

Probably mechanical but first may want to check these while the slide is NOT extended. Look on top and if you feel comfortable doing it you can take the lower front wood panel off and do a look see for obstructions.

Thanks for rapid responses.
I'm a newbie so forgot to post that my pod is 2011, model RP 177.
Hope that helps, but it does sound mechanical…

2011 177 has the slide drive under the slide, look at the slide out cabinets, on the bottom you have two removable panels, the one on the right will get you to the motor and drive, pull the panel cover, 4 screws, probably square drive, and see if you can spot an issue or something caught in the worm drive.

Noise isn't a usual complaint with these, the slide stop falling off is.. But give it a look if you feel comfortable doing so. It's a pretty simple mechanism.
