The axle is resting on the tires/wheels, not the other way around. So their mass is part of the trailer weight, but not as part of the axle load. Probably over 100 lbs for the pair.

Does the r-pods have a label from factory providing the actual weight of camper with factory installed options as it leaves the factory and the allowable cargo capacity? I think most campers may include that information our Vista has that information on a label inside of a kitchen cupboard.  Gulf Stream includes the weight of full LP tanks with the campers unloaded vehicle weight the battery is not included. The GVWR is 4,500 lbs the UVW is 3,247 lbs the NCC 1,253 lbs. I went back and read previous posts I think my question was answered the r-pods do include all the information I mentioned, sorry.

They include the weight as the trailers leave the factory but I would not use the term “actual”. DOT allows manufacturers to use standard weights so since the numbers on my trailer label exactly match the listed specs for that trailer and year, I’m quite sure they are not actual measured weights. How close they are to the real world is an open question.

Given that I have seen variations in the dry weights posted by people, I believe that the factory does weigh the trailer when it is built and ready to leave. My 2016 RP179 has a dry weight posted of 2770 lbs. It has the air conditioner and convection microwave. It would not have had the propane tank or the batteries when it was weighed.

I think its all a bit of a puzzle. StephenH, here's the info on our two 179's.  I'm assuming yours also had the factory TV option, mine did.

I'm pretty sure that the propane tank is included in the weight for  both years since it is on the list of standard features in the marketing literature. The battery is not. The 2016 literature specifically says that the propane fuel and tank are included. The 2015 literature doesn't say that. So, I think the 19 lbs difference between the empty weights of the two model years is probably the difference between an empty and a full propane tank.

My actual weight matches the marketing literature exactly, which is why I was assuming they disn't measure the actual trailer. Too much coincidence that the numbers would match to the pound. The 2015 literature only says they measure every "model" not every trailer.

Yours is 40 lbs less than the marketing literature, so perhaps they did start to measure actual weights in 2016. Hard to know, but I suppose someone could call FR and ask them. In any event, in my opinion the bottom line for everyone is that they should weigh their trailers as loaded for their normal use at least once, and not assume the trailer weight and tongue weight based on either the label or the product literature.

If you want to start a spreadsheet or something, Our RP179 is a 2017 (but we got it summer of 2016, and it's green).

The stickers on the side of ours say:

Dry weight:    2860
GVWR:           3785
Max Cargo:       908

That makes a difference of 17 lbs unaccounted for.

Well, I'm not so sure I want to keep a spreadsheet on this stuff, I'm nerdly but not THAT nerdly LOL but here's an added column for GlueGuy.

The UVW went up quite a bit on the 2017's in appears. I have no idea why. GlueGuy, there was an additional optional item in 2017, which is the electric jack, did yours come with that (I put it in the table for now)? Also, there should presumably be a weight adder for the Hood River edition for yours but I can't find a number in the product literature for that.

Ours did not have the electric jack, but it did have the TV, microwave, AC, propane tank (1), and 2 12V batteries. We have no idea which of those things came from the factory or were dealer add-ons.

Revised to remove the electric jack. The 2017 product literature indicates that the UVW includes the propane fuel and tank but does not include dealer installed accessories such as the battery(ies). I get the 19 lb weight increase from 15 to 16 (propane) but not the 107 lbs increase from 16 to 17.  I guess everything just gets heavier with age...

Mine did not have the flip foot or the undermount stainless steel sink and cover. Those might account for a few pounds, but not 40.
