I do agree, some do, some don't and never to agree as to what is best.

I don't for my own reasons. Dinking water I carry 6 gallons and re-fill at the grocery. Cheap enough. Personally, I just don't trust any of the water at CG's. I can taste what they've done to it to keep it safe.

I'd switch to the 2.5 gallon jerry cans that stack and bolt into place, yet they're so darn expensive.

I sanitize right before the first trip and that's it for the season.  If it would start tasting/smelling bad (which it has not) then I would sanitize again.  It's really very simple to do.

Not afraid to drink or brush with tank water, but coffee gets bottled water.

Enjoy

We bring a 2 GAL jug from home. Been sick from bad water before and IMO it just not worth the risk.

Thanks all.  Glad to hear the majority (of the respondents) DO drink from their tanks.

I got giardiasis from the Red Lodge, MT municipal water system long ago and NEVER want to go through that (or taking Flagyl) again.  Nasty.

Called the Forest Service to get an update on the water at our favorite campground, and eventually got in touch with the management company's rep.  They fixed the problem and now the campground water is certified potable by the Alpine county health dept.  We can drink with confidence until it fails the next test after we've already consumed the water.  So we will fill some separate containers for drinking and leave the tank water for washing, flushing, etc.  With a little luck we'll dodge giardiasis again.  Confused
