I've seen some of the shelves others have made, but when I stumbled across this little shelving unit at Home Depot, it was just too easy. The shelves are almost the perfect size for the inside of the 179 wardrobe closet.

All I did was make a couple of 1/2" x 1/2" cleats for each shelf and screwed them to the wall with some 3/4" lath screws. The only thing I would do different is make the cleats 5/8" wide, as the walls in the closet are not parallel, and the middle shelf is real close to the edge of the 1/2" cleats.

Oh. You do have to take a chunk out of one of the corners to clear the pre-existing cleat inside the door on the right hand side.

Looks good. I just spent a couple hours on a shelving mod today myself.

Wow - Looks really slick. 178's don't have the closet.

Very nice!  Our 190 had a closet, but we converted it to a pantry and store our clothes on a shelf we installed over the bed.

All is good!  The pods are so easy to modify!  We absolutely love ours!,,,

I was thinking of doing something like this but thought I'd have to line the walls inside the closet with wood first as the walls are so flimsy. How are they holding up and did you go all the way through on the bedside wall with a nut and bolt? Thanks!

If you poke around a little bit, you can find some "meat". That said, we put in the cleats with lathe screws, and because the load is in shear, it seems to be holding up just fine.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. This is much simpler than what I was going to do!

I ended up removing the piece of trim on the right inside which allowed me to build the rack inside freestanding so no wooden cleats needed. It's exactly the right size. I then had some scrap 1/4" material I used to line the shelves so clothes would be easier to slide in and out than on the wire shelf. Thanks so much for the idea and I'm glad Home Depot had them in stock!
