Hey everyone, I met a guy today with a Puma TT that showed me how he re-routed his refrigerator condensation drain tube to extend out of the fridge vent and drain to the outside rather than inside the cup in the unit. He said some people have had water issues with it leaking inside. It seemed and looked like a really good idea. Has anyone here done that with the R-Pod fridge? I took off the outside vent cover on ours and I see a clear tube going down in to a little plastic cup. It only holds about a cup of water and then what? Looks like it would just spill over to me....

Forest River uses the same exterior drain for their Sonoma trailers.  They have a hose that goes out the lower vent.  It's kind of a pain to put back if you have to open the vent cover, but it works.

What condensation goes down into the cup will evaporate from the heat of the coolant running through the pipe around which it is wrapped. The only bad part is if it cracks. Mine did, but I patched it and still have the hose running into it. If it cracks again, I will likely extend the hose out the vent also.

I extended the tubing through the floor, now it drains under the trailer

Wow thanks for all the feedback! Thumbs Up I did not notice there was a coolant line in there. I'm trying to get ahead of problem issues now while we first have the R-Pod so this is well appreciated.

Speaking of getting ahead of problem issues, I'd be more concerned about reinforcing the hanger strap for the black tank tube.  THAT will make a much bigger mess than the few drops of water from the fridge.
I have a photo of the hanger I made. A bit over engineered, but it was the best available parts I could get.

Sorry, see if this one works.

+1 on strengthening the black tank tube hanger. I had the factory version fail. Then a second one was added by the factory. Both of them failed. Both times, the result was the end of the tube dragging on the pavement, the second time with the valve coming open on a pretty full tank. I am sorry for the people who were behind us. There won't be a third time since I then added my own hanger that is much stronger and is not tied directly to the pipe so the road motion flexing it won't fatigue and break the metal. Plus, there are no nuts holding the hanger to the pipe which could vibrate loose. Pictures are in my mods (see link in signature).

Thanks for the idea. I saw someone who had that problem too and they used metal banding strap. I got down there and can see how cheesy the hanger is and how fast it can probably fatigue and break.

@mjlrop the URL you posted to the photo isn't working for me, can you check if the link is valid please? Maybe the picture isn't marked as shared in your Google account or something? I would like to see what you got...

The link works for me and the idea for the hanger looks really good and should hold up
