Yeah, I hope the 'hauls like a dream' does not end up being 'this rig is a nightmare'...

Fingers crossed!

First, welcome to the forum.

Second, you will find that the group here will challenge statements that don't seem to fit the facts, particularly if they might effect someone's safety at some point.  It's not personal, and of course you can personally do whatever you want, but others read this too, and should be properly informed.

In this case, your comments about the Lincoln MKX's capability as a tow vehicle. I believe that vehicle has a 3500 lb tow rating. When you say you are under the MCGVWR did you actually load up the trailer as you plan to use it, and load up the Lincoln with gear and people as you plan to travel? Did you get an actual weight of the loaded rig at a public scale? Did you check the tongue weight?

If not, then you are almost certain to be over on one or more of your TV's limits, My 179 comes in at around 3700 lbs and 500 on the tongue, as an example, and that's not including anything in my tow vehicle. 500 lbs is not much.

You need a brake controller for the trailer brakes, first.  i like my inertia based controller by Redarc.

My brother tows a 30' something with his Tundra.

I appreciate the Howard’s RV suggestion and the suggestion to look at those other models. Ideally, we would love to buy one used as we won’t be using it all that much. Thanks for all the suggestions and keep em coming. My husbands truck is a 2019. I want to put it to some good use.

I'm sorry, the Mother Ship (Forest River) called and they cannot allow you to sell off your pod.

They indicated you can feel free to make other plans and let us know how that goes.

Tongue

ET phone home.....

What I realized is that we always go to the mountains to camp anyway, so now that we live here there's not a lot of motivation to go somewhere else camping. Besides,  I gotta get some $$ from somewhere for a tractor, I'll have about 15 acres of pasture to mow.. That' ain't gonna get done on a riding mower.....

Yeah you're good.

Reason I asked is sometimes we have a newbie come in and want us to 'sign-off' on them pulling an r-pod with a mini-cooper or something...

Of course I wont do that!

If memory serves the Tundras have a V8 engine, available or standard, I dont keep up but I'm sure you are gonna be OK with the Tundra.
