So to recap, and maybe I have this wrong:
1) Good water pressure out of all faucets on city water. That tells us the shower is OK. 2) Good water pressure out of all but the shower on the pump. That tells us the pump is OK. 3) The valve on the shower head did not get closed accidentally between tests (1) and (2). The only other thing I can think of is to go back on city water now and try the shower again. Maybe something got clogged in between (1) and (2).

On ours, between the pressure restrictor and the water filter on the city water connection, we get better water pressure in the shower with the water pump.

I think it would always have a pressure issue. Not be good in city water and bad on the water pump. The water pump itself could be the issue.

Is it possible that the screen/filter in the pump itself is clogged?

My read is that when hooked up to city water the shower pressure is fine, but not so much when using the FW tank/pump. Cadeeli, did I get that right?

Sounds like the screen at the shower may be clogged. This is quite common for the faucet at the kitchen sink; maybe not quite as often for the shower.

it might be higher pressure when connected to city water but it should be fine on the pump too. You don't have the little shutoff valve on the shower head closed by any chance do you?
