Greetings All! My Wife and I have put a deposit on an R-pod 191. This will be our first travel trailer and we are towing it with a 2019 Ridgeline AWD.
We will pick it up on Wednesday July 08th at a dealer in Yadkinville, NC. We could not find one near our home at a reasonable price. We'd like to confirm with the experts here if this is an A/C unit in the photograph? Thanks for your help, Bob

Yep, that's the interior part. There is a box directly above on the roof with the compressor and condenser in it.
Congratulations and welcome. Your Ridgeline has the same towing capacity as my Highlander, which is Ok as long as you keep the cargo weight in the trailer and tow vehicle within reasonable limits. I suggest you get a weight distribution hitch for it though, it will tow better for you. |

@Offgrid Thanks so much for confirming this! Just some extra peace of mind, since we're not familiar with what A/C and Fan only units look like in RVs.
I've been reading up on the WDH. Glad to see your advice on towing with a similar rig.

yes,The WDH is the ticket when towing with a “light” vehicle. We tow with a Ford Sport Trac and that WDH really made a big difference in equalizing the load from rear to front.
We also do a little overkill and also use a friction control bar. Good luck! I am sure you will love this little trailer and enjoy pulling it as well.

Just a bit few tidbits of information:
There will be a wall thermostat that controls the A/C and the furnace. Obviously you will need to be plugged in to shorepower for the A/C to work, but the furnace fan will work on the 12v battery and of course, propane. The A/C is pretty loud, yes, welcome to RVs with roof A/C. Otherwise, congrats and welcome to the group! |

Thanks for the warm welcome! And of course the sage advice.
After we take delivery of the R-Pod, we were fortunate enough to secure a couple nights of RV park camping on the Blueridge Parkway. They have 30amp power, water, and a shower house, so we plan on just cooking in the R-Pod, no boondock camping yet until we get it shipshape.

First of all, welcome to the forum.
As for towing with a Ridgeline, be sure your towing capacity is adequate for the trailer. According to Mr. Google, it ranges betweeon 3,500 and 5,000 lbs. The gross vehicle weight of the 191 is stated to be 3,800. You need to be sure you are not exceeding the capacity of your Ridgeline as equipped. It may be worth looking it up or contacting your dealer to see. You may also want to check to see what the manufacturer says about using a weight distribution hitch. If it can be used, it might be more comfortable driving. There are lots of threads in the forum about "WHD's" that you can look up with the search feature, but go into advanced and expand the time frame of the search to at least a year. Best of luck with your new r-Pod.
