+ the flip up glass cover also makes it hard to reach the space behind the stove. Ours is a 179 also and I love the cutting board cover.

The recessed cooktop is a bit of a pain to keep clean.

I have increased our counter top space in 2 ways-I added a flip up shelf at the end of the counter top and also made a cutting board cover for the cooktop to use when the cooktop is not in use. We have a 179, so your pod may(probably) has a different setup

Has anyone replaced your cook top with a recessed cook top with glass top?

If so, let me know what needs to be done to do it.  Wife wants more counter top space and I need to either build a cover or replace with the recessed.
