I purchased some Reflectix insulation to place between the kitchen curtains and window to keep the sun from eating up the fabric since that end of the 179 is in the sun most of the day.  The window frame gets really hot with >100 F days. Should I be aware of any unintended consequences with this shade material.  It's much like a car window shade.

Thanks,

I've had the same material in my 2015 178 for 5 years. Mine is on the rear window. I put it there to insulate the sleeping area from the cold. The rear window was extremely cold when I happened to camp in the winter for 3 months. It has caused nothing. It insulates the sleeping area. I didn't experience the same issues from the side windows. If you do see issues remove it. Personally I don't use the rear, single pane window so I have never removed it.

I have the Reflectix in all but the kitchen window in our 179. I have not noticed any ill effects from using it. The only thing to keep track of is something that can happen whether you use the Reflectix or not. That is the rubber that holds the glass in place can shrink. If it does, just seal the gap with either silicone or other rubberized sealant and you will be good to go.
