Hi fellow R pod owners! Does anyone out there have schematics or access to a diagram that shows where the framing is on  Hood River model. In other more specific words, I am trying to drill mounting screws to strap down my new awning bag as it is apt to flap around while traveling. Thanx in advance, Leo

There aren’t structural drawings available, I’m sure FR considers those company confidential materials.

Here is a video showing the construction process so you can see what’s in there. The square aluminum tubing you see is 1x1 but the person I spoke to at FR was not able to provide a tube wall thickness. It’s pretty thin.

No reason to think the hood river version is any different, no one has identified any differences other than wheels, tires, lift kit that I’ve heard of.

On a fall morning, if you go out and look at the side of the pod as the sun is just coming up, you can actually see the layout of the inner frame from the condensation.

Thank you, assuming if the corner is only an inch I will either have to drill at an angle or catch an upright.  I'll watch that vid to see if it shows some uprights. Smile

Or you could drill horizontally through the keder rail to attach things, if you're not using it for something else.

Keder rail? Is that the rail that accepts the tubular part of the awning? Yes I am using that part... I can drill through that rope but need to attach another right below the bagged awning bag to secure it.
Thanx, Leo

Greetings:
I think that a stud detector might work to find the frames, worth a try if you have one. they are cheap.

I have used one in past. Also the better models assist with wires.
