I have a 196 and it has a prep table and gas griddle that attaches to that rail.

Hence the 'r' in r-pod....'r' for 'retro'...

You're welcome....

We had the same kind of rail on our old 1993 Jayco popup and it served a dual purpose.  One for the inside table (which had a similar mount inside) and also for the cookstove.  R-Pod is getting up to speed with the 1993 Jayco line.

Looks like a rail to support an outdoor kitchen...I havent kept up with options on new models so that's only a guess.

May also hold a small prep table. Will try it later in the spring

I think the rail is for a gas griddle that comes with the r-pod. We have one in ours, but didn't unpack and use it yet.

Looks to me to be a cook top mount. I think I've seen these on everything from pop ups, to the new 202. It could receive a table also, but I think they would supply the table it is did.

You might want to check with your dealer, maybe there is something that is missing from the factory.  Sure looks like a rail that would support a outside table.
