Good Morning,
Need some help please...
I'm having a problem finding an awning for new purchase. Is there is a special model awning specifically made for Rpod 171?
All my camper friends have big rigs so a typical awning they use doesn't seem to fit what I have.
Any suggestions please?Big smile

Thank you...

Welcome! I'm a newbie, too, but a company called PahaQue Wilderness makes an awning it claims will fit all R-pod models: https://pahaque.com/products/r-pod-trailer-awning-by-pahaque

Welcome, You can get an R-dome also, that is a screen house, rain house, or awning, depending how you want to set it up. It's made by Dometic, and it's called a cabana I believe. It attaches right to the Keder rail on the camper, and doubles the size of the pod.

Make sure your Rpod has a Keder rail mounted above the door running the length of the trailer.  This what you slide the rdome or PahaQue into awning into.  The rail should have been mounted at the factory.

Welcome to the Pod world and this forum! We ordered a Clam Shelter. They come in different sizes and are, or can be, more versatile than the R-Dome in our opinion. Lots of price variations for the sizes, too, so do some shopping if these interest you.  Search "clam shelter"

So the Clam doesn't hook up to the camper... Or maybe I'm not searching for the right thing... Thanks for your message!

Correct. It does not attach directly. It can be placed as close as you want, or moved around depending on the size, shape of your camping area. That versatility is part of what convinced us to buy one. We often could not use the RDome on our 179 due to terrain or in some cases the camp site lay out.
