How is the RPod floor constructed? Is it solid plywood or a sandwich of plywood and foam or ?

Thanks. No way I'm mounting a table pedestal on the floor then.

If you use coarse threaded short screws it is pretty strong. Strong enough that the aluminum base sleeve broke on the pedestal I originally installed on the floor when I put way too much weight on the table. [I've taken off the weight since then. ]. But the screws didn't budge. They were as tight as ever. And when I replaced the pedestal base, the new one was plenty strong too, all on the sandwich floor of my 172.
You might also want to check into lighter table material. That particle board stuff that comes with the trailer is unseemly heavy. I used a Lifetime 30"x30" child height table with the legs folded up. I was more worried about the post base pulling out of the table so put a wood backing plate on the bottom of the table to hold the upper base screws. It worked well and doubled as a low "coffee" table outside the trailer simply by folding out the card table style legs.

I chose the recessed pedestal mount, so I got to drill a large ugly hole in the floor of the new r-pod...yep...the floor is a styro sandwich.

Why did you drill the hole in the floor?

Why did you drill the hole in the floor? The base on the bottom is different from the base on the bottom?
*Slow internet this morning. Sorry for the duplicate post.
