Well after our hard freeze last nite it is getting close to either follow the humming birds and ducks South or stay and winterize.
Usually by th 15 - 25 of Oct is time up here to shutter down.
I have made mods to my low water drains and water tank, got all things under bed for water shut off all i need to find out what size socket fits the anode rod to drain water heater. I have a blow out plug plus a couple of gallons of red anti freeze. Should only take a half hour or so to do.

1 1/16" socket is what you need.  I spent yesterday winterizing and putting the cover on. The cover is a tough job to do by yourself. Dreading the thought of another long winter. Cry

Well it was close sounds like one more socket to look up. Thanks.
Wife said lets go out this next week so looking at our state parks that are close. Besides we pay half rate during week (old people discount). Our parks shut down water, sewer, bathroom Oct 25, but will have electric but by then i may be heading South.

I didn't have a socket to fit the anode in my "box-O-tools" so ended up buying one off of eBay for about $7 delivered.

Wish I had the vacation days to take off and head south for a little camping. Looks like spring will be the next time I get a little podding time.
