We have been fortunate with our Bauer keyless lockset on our door.  We won it as a prize in 2017 at the Traverse City R-Pod Roundup.  It took 5 minutes to install and has performed flawlessly (except when the batteries die) ever since.

We have the RV lock as well and like not having to keep up with keys. However, ours did fail three days after installing it. The folks at RV Lock were very responsive and got us a replacement sent out really fast. The only thing that bothers me about the failure was the way it failed. It was constantly unlocking with no interaction from us. I could hear the motor and tones when it was doing this, and it kept doing the unlock over and over. We were on a camping trip when this happened, luckily sitting just outside when the failure started. The remote setting for the lock was in the off position. I pulled the batteries out and went with the key the remainder of the trip. I have been keeping a close eye on the lock and it has not had any other issues since this failure/replacement.

There's also a key lock on the RV Lock if the batteries go dead. Of course, that doesn't do you any good if the keys are in the camper.

I would totally recommend replacing it with the R.V. lock keyless unit. It's so nice to not worry about carrying keys. 1st of all, everyone will have a "key" (know the code) so no one is ever locked out. Many times my daughter will come visit, and we are away, she is able to get in, and get settled till we return. I've had mine 5 years or more, it works awesome.

Hey Stephen,
thanks for the info.
I would be happy to buy your original lockset if you are interested in selling it. I already have different keys for the storage hatch, so that is not a problem

I happen to have the original lock set available. We have the Bauer lock on our RPod now and the original lock set has been sitting unused. I can try to dig it up.

Other than that, these locks appear to be pretty common. If you look on Amazon, you can find them easily. You would need to replace the entire unit, but then you will have a different key from your storage hatch and outdoor shower (if you have one).

We just returned from a short trip and our door lock is inoperable.
The keyway has shifted for the standard lock but the dead bolt keyway still works. I have taken it apart and tried to locate the issue but have had no luck. so, we can lock the pod with a key in the deadbolt, but not the standard latch.
Has anyone had this issue before?
Has anyone replaced their lock with an aftermarket unit?  We do not use the battery powered button set, just the standard key.
I assume I need to replace the entire unit. does anyone have a replacement type and source other than original forest river?

Thanks
Vann
