HE SAID MOST PEOPLE WHO COME IN TO BUY AN R POD END UP BUYING THE SURVEYOR. BOTH ABOUT SAME PRICE BATHROOM IN SURVEYOR IS MUCH NICER AND BOTH HAVE A SLIDEOUT. COULD ANYONE GIVE ME SOME INSIGHT. THIS WILL BE OUR FIRST CAMPER AND I SURE DONT KNOW APPLES FROM ORANGES. THANK YOU LARRY

My wife and I looked at a lot of different units over several years before we purchased our 173. We had previously owned a pop up. Our decision was based on it only being two of us and the retro look of the Rpod vs the other options on the market. Look at several different units and then decide how much space you really need and that would be the one I would go with. Take your time and don'e let the sales folks talk you into buying what they think you need buy something because you want it. Just my humble opinion.

This is a little confusing as your "signature" line indicates you already own a RP 171 , is there somethig I'm missing here?

THANKS BRIDGE THATS WHY WE CAME HOME WITHOUT ONE TODAY. TO GET SOME ADVISE FROM SOME OF THE PEOPLE HERE. WE HAVE BEEN ON THE INTERNET LOOKING FOR A MONTH, AND HAVE TALKED TO SALESMAN 3 TIMES. WE THOUGHT WE KNEW WHAT WE WANTED. WENT TODAY TO PICK IT UP. AND THEN GOT ALOT OF INFO THROWN AT US SO FAST, WE CAME HOME TO TALK IT OVER.

My guess is there must be a bigger markup on the other camper.  If it is feasible I would go to a different dealer.  If not, stick to the camper YOU want and not the one the salesman wants you to buy.  I wouldn't trust him at all.

I agree with this 100%.  If it be the Pod - fine.  If it be the Surveyor - fine.  You will be the one handing over the cash and living with the camper for a while, so get what YOU want.

Quickly looking at the Surveyor, the only negative I see is increased dry / tow weight.  The appliances look identical to the R-Pod, and I really like the Surveyor layout.  If price is not an issue and you have the vehicle that can tow it, I'd go for the Surveyor.
