Glad you are enjoying the parkway. Are you camping at Raccoon Hollar?

I saw the sign of it, but no we didn't. Mainly stay at the National's along the parkway heading south and stayed in the National Forest CG's on the way north from Tennessee. We did find 3 of the NF CG's to be closed, so be aware that not all the NF CG's are open. We asked about closures and the Rangers kept saying everything was open... It is a very large area of National Forests to stay updated on.

Can not say it better.. just slow down and enjoy!

Rocky Knob was one of our fav's mainly for being there on Saturday and getting the acoustic concert! The dude was a John Prine fan and that fit just fine for us. A CG to do and plan accordingly. Good folk, good time!

On that note... Peaks of Otter was our least fav of 'any' National we have visited and I would avoid if in the area again. I do so wish not to say such a thing, yet it is what it is... That place needs some loving care/attention.

I've taken my rpod on the Parkway numerous times and never felt it was an issue. The speed limit is really low anyway so in theory you're not holding up traffic. In practice some folks are speeding and for some reason desperate to pass rather than enjoy the ride but there are so many turnouts and overlooks that it's not really a problem. Just take your time, use a lower gear and relax.

No problem at all! If you've never done the run (like us), well worth doing so!

Thanks. I did not realize you had edited the original post. I was still looking at the link that was in the post at the end of page 1.

Sorry 'bout that. I shows up as I setup the post.. Both with the 'share or base' addy's... Weird..

I'll keep that in mind for future posts! The run into the Great Smokies and back north along the MABDR may be of interest to some more of ya's.

The most of the MABDR is doable for anyone, yet towing.. maybe much better to leave the camper at camp and do day ventures in the TV. You see what I mean as I continue to post up some more.
