Just returned from another excellent trip to our southern coast for 6 weeks fishing and camping!
We started towards the end of Sept as we headed south we made our regular overnight stops at the New York City North/Newburgh KOA and the Philadelphia South/Clarksboro KOA.
We then spent 5 nights at the First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach.
We then continued south to The Cliffs at the Neuse State Park in NC ( a true gem if your looking for a nice relaxing SP)
We then went to Myrtle Beach State Park for two weeks of excellent fishing, biking and hiking.
We then headed south to Hunting Island State Park for 9 days then onto Edisto State Park for 3 days. Both we first time stays and we really enjoyed the parks, fishing, biking and hiking there.
We then did a 3 day stop back at Myrtle Beach SP, back for a one night stay at Cliff at the Neuse again.
We then did a first time stay at Kiptopeke State Park in Cape Charles VA. really nice park!
Then we went to Assateague National Seashore for 4 days of camping, this is quickly becoming one of our favorite spots!! We then stopped our last night at Philadelphia/Clarksboro KOA and finished off our trip the next day.
We had great weather, food, fishing and hiking. We did have our first camper tire blowout on the wat to our second visit to Cliff at the Neuse, happened about 5 miles south of the campground on rte 111 Very small thin two lane road. We were quickly helped by a really nice and helpful man who lived a bit up the road. Total time in changing the flat was 20 mins.
We then called ahead and had a spare tire waiting for us we
hen we got to Berlin Maryland ( near Assateague).
We received very courteous, fast and excellent service from Wainwrights Tire and service center!! Really great customer service!!
Already looking forward to our next trip south to Assateague this coming May!

Sounds like a great trip Leo!

We love Assateague. 2-3 times a year. Must have just missed you. We were there October 20. Will be back again in spring.

It is a great place to camp we have stayed t Ocean side and Bay side both have great sites, we had the ponies come through numerous time each day. There were a lot of deer along the roads and woods near the campground also.
I was also impressed with Edisto Island State Park it's set up really nice, has easy walks to the beach and nice hiking trails.
