@Jato: The battery lights don't indicate actual charge level. They indicate whether the battery is charging (C), charge level is good (G), charge level is fair (F), or charge level is poor (P). I have no idea what voltage thresholds they use for those indicators.

The only accurate gauge on our 2011 177 is for the fresh water. When it was brand new all were pretty close to being good but by the end of the first year both the gray and black would show between 1/3 to 2/3 full after being emptied. Same goes for the battery strength. One time I waited until the gauge showed the battery at 1/3 yet the furnace motor and water pump were barely functional. Picked up a voltmeter and it showed the battery was well under 12 volts - not good as I learned from other members on this forum not to run the battery below 60% S.O.C. or 12.2 volts. And that has been a great standard to go by. Just a month ago I had to retire one of my original 12v batteries, it would have turned 11 years old in December 2021. The other one still works great and that will turn 11 years old next April.

Ditto! The gages for the tanks a usually VERY unreliable, we are on our 4th camper and the tank gages have never been accurate.

Yes there are vents on the roof for both the grey and black tanks.
How do you know the tank isn't completely full? If you are relying on the little lights you shouldn't, those are notoriously inaccurate. You might want to try draining the gray tank completely using the Jerry can to see if it is holding its full capacity (30 gallons) or not. |

Hello, I am wondering if the holding tanks are vented? If so can the vent get clogged up?
It seems when my grey water tank gets about 3/4 full the sink quits draining. I've plunged it and it bubbles. I have a Jerry can that I use to drain 6 gallons of liquid out when the sink backs up. When I'm draining the tank I hear bubbles in the tank. This is a recent problem so something is going on? |
