Microwave Outlet

Okay. were you plugged into shore power while doing this? The microwave will only work if it has AC power. If you are plugged into shore power, are there any breakers tripped? If no breakers are tripped, check the GFI outlet to make sure that is not tripped. 

Thanks for the additional information. It is possible that there is a wiring issue if it works sometimes. Those are the most difficult problems to find. If you are not comfortable working on this yourself, take it to a place that can diagnose the problem and fix it for you. That might not necessarily be a dealer. There might be an independent RV service place near you. It could be as simple as the wiring in the outlet is not tight and when the slide moves, the wire shifts from making contact to not making contact. Alternately, it may have flexed enough to break. Personally, I would take the outlet out (with power turned off, of course) and check the tightness of the cable where it attaches to the outlet.

Originally posted by TheBum I had a similar issue with the fridge in my 179, which is also in the slide. I no longer have that R-Pod, but as far as I know, the issue still exists. Fortunately, the fridge still worked on propane and battery/converter power. I think that the wiring protection is not good going into the slide; I was able to determine that the outlet was dead. Without pulling apart more of the Pod than I wanted to, there was no way to trace it. BTW, the GFCI should have no impact on the microwave because it's usually on a dedicated circuit. It was in my 179 anyway.
