Congratulations.

Unless you know the maintenance history and it's been done in the last year I'd suggest pulling the wheels, checking the brakes, and packing the bearings. Also if it has the original tires change them out regardless of how much tread they have left, 7 years is getting too old. Get load range D trailer tires or something in a light truck tire that has the equivalent load rating.
Some of the rpods made in that period came with tires that were too light for the application. Then when you reconnect go through the adjustment procedure on your brake controller to be sure it's set how you want it.

Also check your tongue to trailer weight ratio, that should be at least 10%, preferably more than 11% to minimize sway risk. You can do that at a public scale or use a tongue weight scale.
Something else yhat you might consider is a weight distribution hitch, some folks with F150s favor them, some don't feel they need one.

Do the above and drive conservatively and you and your family will have a safe summer towing.

Next check for any leaks or water damage. Check around the floor perimeter and around the windows and any other openings and in the roof under the little spoiler on the back of the trailer. You have to keep water out of rpods or they can deteriorate to the point they're not salvageable. The rest of the stuff in the trailer and any mods you want to do can come later.
