Hello All!
I bought a 2016 rpod 178 last Fall and have yet to have an inaugural outing. I actually have lots of questions but don’t know where to start. For example, 1) is my A/C running off the battery when not attached to shore power? To extend the life of it (ac per trip) do I need to install another battery? 2) I see many interesting answers in the forum but don’t know how to find the original post, perhaps to respond 3) I saw some people were working on a manual but when I saw it before it wasn’t finished. I’d be happy to help with it (as I learn)—would someone provide me a link to the most current version as I’m hopelessly new at navigating this forum! Thanks, Kasey

Congratulations KaseyconQueso on your acquisition of a 178. I bet you are just itching to get out there, make some memories and enjoy the great out of doors with your rpod. 1) Your A/C will need a generator to keep it running if you are off-grid. Like your other appliance (microwave/convection oven) a generator will be a necessity if you plan on utilizing it. Also your 120 outlets will not work either when not hooked up to shore power. 2) To find the original post go to the upper right on this page and you will find "Topic Search" next to a magnifying glass, click that on and type the name of the topic for whatever you are trying to find. 3) The manual is a 'work in process' and although it is quite thorough there seems to always be something new that is added to it every now and then. To find this go to Podmods, Maintenance, Tips and Tricks, and the first topic you will find will be the maintenance manual, 25 pages of great information that has benefited many over the years. This forum has been a great help to me, and as questions come up ask away as there are many experienced rpod owners who will most likely have an answer to your dilemma or issue and if not, will point you in the direction to go. I have owned a 177 for just over 12 years, in fact, one of the original batteries will turn 12 years old next month (12v Interstate group size 24 deep cycle), the other one was retired 2.5 years ago with a Trojan T-1275, a beast at 85 lbs. but does give 150 aH of service which is good in tandem with our other battery when we are camping without electricity, which is normally the case. Again, welcome and looking forward to hearing about your 178 and your posts.

Additional information on searching. When you search, there is an option for "Advanced Search" that you will want to use. The forum defaults to searching posts no older than six months. With advanced search, you can expand the date range so you can see older posts. It is quite useful.
