hey guys, was working on getting 12v from the license plate light to power the backup camera, and it somehow stopped working, the bulb is fine.
What should I be looking for?
Thanks.

It is 2016 178 btw.

Blown fuse in the tow vehicle? Are the rest of the trailer clearance lights operating? What tow vehicle do you have? That might help.

Sure, it's a 2018 Honda Pilot.
The other exterior lights seem to work fine.

Is the license plate light shining at all? Do you have a multimeter? Remove the bulb and check for 12V power in the socket. Be careful not to short the bulb connections with the probes. Check the wiring connectors. One issue is that the ground connection for the socket (and therefore the camera) may be corroded. Make sure all wiring is clean, secure, and the connections are protected from moisture and corrosion.

I hope you can get it figured out.

Again appreciate all the replies,

A quick update: the light mysteriously came back on.

Not sure what was going on. I'll stock some fuses for both the TV just in case.
