Hey Mountain Mist -- any chance of you posting a picture of your contraption once you have been able to get it to work?

Absolutely!  But with your determination I expect you will get there eventually -- and maybe sooner than later.  You're a pretty gutsy lady.

Podsible Dream

IT WORKS!!   I finally got around to padding the ends of the 6' boards this morning and gave it a try. With ease, it worked.

I love something that I am able to do myself. One more down and many to go!Embarrassed

Hodge-PODge
The system with the 6' boards that Podsible Dream suggest WORKS.
I am just tickledConfused that I have one more thing I can do myself. I am not going to tell the hubby until we have to get under the mattress again. Then spring it on him. I know he will really like the ease in which it works AND the fact that I can do it for myself.

Mountain Mist,

Thank you for letting me know it works.  We sound so much alike, trying to be as independedent as we can.  I'm trying not to pester my husband either.  Also, just like you, I'm the camper in the family.  I was raised in NC and camped in the N.C. mountains every summer on the NC side of the Smokies.  My mom lives near Asheville.

And Podsible Dream -- I probably won't try it until I HAVE to in the fall!  But thanks!  Tongue

Awwww, I was in the middle of drawing up plans for a steam-powered hydraulic piston lifting mechanism.  With optional nuclear fusion for those times off-grid when you just gotta run the A/C.

techntrek, man, the licensing for those things is really a pain in the .... let's stick with simpler machines.

Well THAT good intention to wait until winterizing to use the boards. The hubby wanted to get into the hot water heater and wanted me around to hold the mattress. He WAS really suprised and thanks you all for the help.

Just flushed the clorine from the system and filled with more water and baking soda this time. I get the clorine taste enough if we drink the city water here, use my well water for drinking.
Really pretty day, makes me want to camp. Need to sit down with my chock to chock instructions once again and re-learn the hooking up.  Hard to believe it has been almost 6 months!
