Hi all,

I'm considering purchasing a RhinoFLEX sewer hose.  It looks like a great product and the reviews are good but here is my question:  Will it fit in my tube at the front of the camper that my current sewer hose is in?  It looks as though it will collapse down short enough but I'm worried about the fittings on the ends of the hose. The bayonet fitting on my current hose fits but there's not alot of extra room.  I'm afraid the rhinoFLEX fitting will be too big for my current tube container.  Does anyone have any experience with this?

No it will not fit on the stock holder that was installed on my 2009 171 R-pod.

There is a mod which some have done including myself which you use a 6" X 6" X 8' PVC fence post with a piece of PVC guttering which slides in and out with covers on each end.  It's a very easy mod maybe about 2 hrs. and very handy.

Last fall there was a Forum thread about hanging a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 square PVC fence post for hose storage. I found that my plastic hose ends barely fit inside the post.  I second the recommendation by 'pmjensen' to use a 6x6 PVC post.  Your hose will store more easily and using a PVC gutter as a internal slide is also a great idea.

Here are some picts of my take on the sewer hose holder.  Since I have axle risers on Nuestro Pod.  I opted to mount in back.  Plus it was easy to work in that area.  Prior to mounting, I sprayed mine with a bed liner spray from Walmart just to give it a little more protection from rocks etc.

okay on this topic.  my rpod who is getting ready for her first outing came with a little sewer hose.... i am new to the world of camping sewage, but promised wifey she could make her middle of the night pit stops inside the camper....anyway...is the stock sewer hose problematic somehow?  like do i need to upgrade before maiden voyage?

I don't know if they are problematic as such; the one that we bought with our Pod is short, 6 foot I think. But it stores nicely in the stock storage tube up front. I just have to get close enough to the disposal trap to dump, but it hasn't been a problem for me so far.

I have a cheap 6 foot hose we have used for 2 years now.  The trick is getting close enough to the dump station to use it.  I have dumped at the camp grounds as we leave or the other place I have dumped at is Cabela's (i'm lucky as I live close to 30 minutes from one) when we have camped were there were no dump stations.  Just make sure you have throw away gloves to use

thanks...okay so i guess as long as i can get close enough to the dump station i'll be in good shape...interesting other question...when staying in "full hook up" spots is the sewer part generally within reach of the 6 footer?

Usually but not always.  I purchased an additional hose plus a gaget that lets you hook 2 hoses together for the times it isn't.
