Well it looks like Forest River is saying the mattress is not the best in the r-pods.  They have added them onto their site to sell.  Personally I like the Futon Mattress in my R-pod Camper.

Yikes!  They're a little pricey aren't they?

Or, maybe they're just really, really proud of them.

The prices look in line with Camping World to me.  And, they are made by Serta.

We had to replace the mattress that came with our R-Pod after our first 11 day outing.  The new one from Ikea is wonderful!

Our (very comfortable) solution was to buy the California King Size Spa Sensations 4" Memory Foam mattress topper from WallyMart for $159 and cut it in half. It is within a 1/2 inch of fitting the oddly sized bunks perfectly. We just put them on top of the factory R-Pod mattress.

We use Our-Pod :-) mostly in the winter for snowboarding and let me tell you...sinking into that foam at the end of the day feels might good on these adult bones! You kinda sink in, get all toasty and enjoy camping!

Hints:
- Order it online and use "ship to store" for free shipping
- When cutting, we used a new box cutter (so it was sharp) and a couple of 2x4's. We drew a line, I stood on the 2x4's which were placed on either side of the line to compress the foam, then had someone else cut it.
- It's easy to cut, just do a little bit at a time. We didn't worry if the cut wasn't perfect since it has sheets over it anyway and you could always place the cut side towads the walls.

Link to the CalKing size 4" topper at WallyMart (hopefully this link is ok, sorry if it isn't, no forum rules violations intended :-)
