We are not likely to be camping in total wilderness so my thought is if neighbours can see someone is not using a key to access or tow away the pod they might report it and  'the bad guys" don't want that therefore they are far more likely to go after a unit without any highly visible precautions.
So if you use a wheel thingy then you don't want it to be the wheel inside your dome that you put it on because no one can see inside there with the flaps down. Some insurance companies may give you a break if you have extra precautions and USE them.
