It cost $135 and renewal is 40 ish a year.

In Illinois it was a total of $79 for the plate and the registration.  The renewal fee is $43.

Kymooses. It depends on the state. Here in NJ they are $60 more than standard registration.
You can usually find out online from the state motor vehicle dept. In NJ we have to apply for them online!

How much do custom plates cost usually?
