The factory shower head is a low-flow model @ 2.5 gallon per minute. With both hot and cold on full you would be using 1.25 gallons of hot water per minute, which will last you about 5 1/2 minutes taking into account that the water heater is adding back some heat while you are using the hot water. I've tried taking a full shower w/o turning it off and it ran out on me at the end. So I usually do Navy showers, turning it off while I soap up. If you are dry camping your limitation is the amount of fresh water you've taken along and a Navy shower is a must. I've gotten 4 showers out of our tank in a weekend, plus some dish washing, when dry camping. |

Yeah I did the Navy shower thing this morning and it worked fine. I like a really hot shower, and the Pod did not disappoint...

Unless you take a navy shower (wet, water off, lather, rinse, water off), you'll never make it on a 6-gallon hot water heater. This is true for all campers, not just the R-Pod. You need to change the way you shower if you're running out of hot water.

It's because I wash my hair in the shower . It takes a long time to get wet and then it's long to rinse too .. Maybe I should consider to shave my head for the camping time lol

If you accidentally leave the electric switch on but aren't connected to shore power does it automatically cut over to propane for heating?

Like everyone else, we can get a lot of water out of the water heater provided that your judicious in how you use it. You really want to turn off the water for the most part other than to wet body parts. I'll be willing to bet that the water is only on for about 90 seconds total during a shower. This way both me and Louis can use the shower and even wash dishes in a short period of time and still have hot water available.
