I winterized my R-Pod and noticed the center of the fresh water tank was sagging so that I couldn't drain all the water out. I wondered if it was wise to place a jack (with a board between the tank and the jack) under the tank raise the sagged part so that all the water could drain out. What thinks thee?

I think you would be fine with that as long as you only raise it up to its original shape, but I am wondering is this going to be an issue with all pods as they have not been out that long. The way they are supported may be a factor, also the amount of time they have been full. Water is like 8lbs per gallon times 36, wow is that weight causing the middle to sink over time ? any one else having this problem ?

All fresh water tanks I've ever seen, sag, so I wouldn't worry about it or the water you can't get out, it has plenty of room to expand. When I winterized this year I pushed up with my hands to get enough out so it was below the outlet hose. Probably more paranoia than necessary.

I've had a chance to inspect the bottom of my Rpod 178 since it arrived during the first week of March. I've noticed that the bracket bars that hold up the freshwater and waste tanks only have 2 screws connecting them to the frame. It seems odd because the brackets look like they have holes for up to 4 screws but only 2 screws are in place on each side.
I haven't filled up the tanks yet but I'm wondering if this could be adding to the sagging tank problems people have experienced. Has anyone else noticed how the tank brackets have been screwed into the frame? Anyone else have only 2 screws per connection?

As I approach the fifth year of ownership with my R-Pod, I haven't noticed anything I'd call "sagging." Yes, the bottom does bow out a little - but not to the point I have any concern.

The bottom bow's out or down in this case for the pick-up tube. If tank was flat any unevenness of the POD and you would not get any water if the level was low.
cody91 if you think that it needs a couple of screws in the empty holes I would go ahead and put some in there. Goose |
