I should have mentioned that the screen door does negate the privacy cover for the door porthole. The porthole glass is semi-silvered to reflect sunlight. During the day you would have to put your face right up to the glass to see in. it is installed high enough that inside you can stand and look out. But if you are on the outside you would have to stand on your tip-toes to see in. The Pod floor is sufficiently higher than the top step to provide privacy. Even at night a person outside would only see the top of your head.

I just left a campground in a state park here in Florida. There are bears all around the campground and they will go into the campground.
Here are their points to remember: 1. Remain standing...make yourself look big 2. NEVER look a bear in the eyes 3. Back up slowly 4. Speak in a calm, assertive, assuring voice (I would like to see this one! LOL) 5. Make sure the bear has an exit 6. Do NOT run! 7. Leave the area if you are blocking a food source or travel corridor. Now here is one from me: If all else fails....bend over and kiss your a$$ goodbye! Terry |

I was going to put a porthole in the door too. However, G wanted to be able to access the privacy screen I was going to velcro to the porthole, but found the screen door was in the way. Did you get a different screen door? My solution is to attach a half-curtain to the inside door frame but G doesn't like the look, so yeah, we're still bickering about the planned porthole installation |

I installed a 'porthole' type window in the door. Bought it from the local RV dealer. I have had camp ground people knock on my door to warn of severe weather. I put a circular disk held on by Velcro on the window for privacy. I like to see who is at the door before opening it.

Our 2011 RP-172 only has 2 windows on the side toward the rear and one window on the very back, you cannot see anything out of the front where the bunks are, or on the right or left where the kitchen and head are, has any one put a peep hole in the door to see outside before opening the door, I guess most house type are maybe 1.5 or 2 inches through. It would be nice to see who is outside before opening the door.
