Greetings! We would like to introduce ourselves as we are "newbies" to both this forum and to trailer camping.  My name is Loretta and my husband is Greg. We also have a boxer named Winston who is near and dear to our hearts.  We recently purchased a new 2012 r-pod model #177.  Our dealer is keeping it in storage for us until we can take pick it up when the weather warms.   In the past, we have tent camped, however, due to a bad back and aging joints,  our days of climbing up and down off an air mattress have come to an end.  We began looking at small trailers that might suit our needs and stumbled upon the r-pod. (what a cute little guy!).  We're really looking forward to getting out there.  We live in Muskegon, MI which is located on the shoreline of Lake Michigan.  Our home is about 5 miles from the lake, so I think our first outing will be to the state park campground there (to break in both us and the "sweetie pod").  We have been haunting the forum for the last few weeks picking up tips. (you folks certainly do know your stuff!)  Now that we are forum members, I am sure that we will have lots of questions for you as well.  Looking forward to getting to know you all and becoming a "podder"  Thanks much!

Welcome to the forum. I am sure you will love camping in your new Rpod 177, the 177's are a popular model. I know the feeling of aching joints at 58 I am begining to feel a little old. There is another "podder" Huron Sailor who lives up in Michigan perhaps near you. Hope that Winston likes his new way of camping, a little change from tent camping.     David and Danette

Welcome to the Pod-world. We moved from the ground t a real bed for the same reasons. Combined with our instinct for 'nesting', the R-Pod fits our requirements just right. It works in all weather and keeps everything in one place and ready to go camping. Enjoy once the weather becomes camping suitable!!!

Welcome. We've camped at many of the state parks up and down the west side of MI, you can hardly go wrong no matter which one you choose.

I'm the unofficial organizer of two roundups in MI this summer, one just north of Port Huron in July, and one in the Porcupine Mountains in the UP in August. Look under Events and Campouts on the main page of this forum for more info.

Two years ago we camped in the UP in several state parks, and they were as good as they could be.  Michigan really rolled out the red carpet for tourism, and we liked it!

Welcome to the forum, Loretta, Greg, and Winston the boxer!  I hope you enjoy your 177 as much as I do mine.  Happy Podding!
