Our Jeep says that you can pull up to 7400 pounds thats over 31/2 tons. I don't think that I would feel comfortable pulling over 5000 pounds with the Jeep. It's not the weight that I am afraid of it's the ability of the Jeep to control a trailer at the max weight.  The most weight that I have scaled and pulled has been 79,800 pounds, almost 40 tons but my tractor is designed to handle that much and more.   Goose

Chevy Suburban - mine is rated for 7900 pounds, they will do more if you don't have four wheel drive, or if you get the "3/4 ton" (2500) version.

The tow vehicle we've used for almost 8 years, a 2003 Toyota Sienna (getting picked up today by its new owner, yay!) was rated fro 3500 pounds.

When it comes to towing a camper.....it's kind of like money in the bank, wine and women....more is better! LOL

You can see below what I purchased a couple of years ago.  I have not regretted it one bit.

With a tow rating of 8650 lbs, our Expedition gets it done just fine. (5.4 liter, 4x4)

I have talked with 2 different ecoboost owners, one just this morning, and they both LOVED it. The fella I talked to today was towing a lightweight, just bigger than a Pod.. and square.. but you know, he seemed alright otherwise. He is in the middle of a 6 week pull, Cali to DC and back the L o n g way. He was in KY this weekend, headed for the Ozarks today.. He has 4000+ miles so far towing with the ecoboost, just fawned over the thing he did.
